Cyber Ecosystem Grants, Community, and Governance Cost Allocation

Proposal Title: Cyber Ecosystem Grants, Community, and Governance Cost Allocation

Point of Contact: Roy Shen from Cyber Team.

Proposal Type: Executable

Executive Summary

This proposal seeks funding from the Cyber DAO treasury to support three core areas: (1) Cyber Ecosystem Grants to fund projects building apps and infrastructure on Cyber L2, (2) Community Payroll and Contributor Program, and (3) Governance Costs to sustain DAO operations.
Our request includes 40K CYBER for Cyber Ecosystem Grants (Season 3), 40K CYBER for community payroll (covering Q1 & Q2 2025), and 20k CYBER for DAO governance support provided by Agora (for the entire year of 2025). This funding will strengthen Cyber’s community, governance, and ecosystem growth.

Motivation

This proposal aims to ensure the continued growth and stability of the Cyber ecosystem by:

  1. Leveraging the DAO treasury for future Cyber Ecosystem Grants, after previously running grant programs funded by other sources. DAO funding will allow for a more sustainable grant cycle to support impactful projects building on Cyber.
  2. Leveraging the DAO treasury for compensating community moderators and contributors to maintain an active, supported user base.
  3. Covering essential DAO governance costs, allowing Cyber to continue its partnership with Agora for reliable infrastructure and consulting.

Specifications

1. Cyber Ecosystem Grants

  • Request: 40K CYBER for Season 3.
  • Purpose: To support apps and infrastructure projects.
  • Structure: The requested funds will be distributed among the top three winning projects selected for Season 3, empowering each to build on Cyber.
  • Impact KPIs: Number of successful project launches, increase in active users, and sustained ecosystem growth.

2. Community Payroll & Contributor Program

  • Request: 40K CYBER for Q1 & Q2 2025.
  • Purpose: To compensate community moderators, regional leaders, and contributors, starting January 1st, 2025.
  • Impact KPIs: Enhanced community engagement, user retention, and satisfaction within Cyber’s community.

3. DAO Governance Cost

  • Request: 20k CYBER to cover DAO governance cost.
  • Purpose: To cover costs associated with Agora’s ongoing support, which is critical for maintaining a sustainable and structured DAO.
  • Impact KPIs: Improved governance processes, operational stability, and enhanced security within Cyber’s DAO framework.

Success Criteria

Success will be measured by:

  1. Completion and effectiveness of funded grant projects that drive measurable ecosystem growth.
  2. Sustained engagement from community moderators and contributors, resulting in higher user satisfaction.
  3. Continued partnership with Agora, ensuring smooth governance operations and reliable infrastructure for Cyber’s DAO.

Action Plan

  1. Cyber Ecosystem Grants: Distribute 40K CYBER among three winning teams in Season 3, enabling them to develop projects on the Cyber platform.
  2. Community Payroll: Begin payments for community roles from January 1st, 2025, ensuring consistent compensation for engaged community leaders and contributors.
  3. DAO Governance: Renew the Agora contract for 2025 to ensure continued alignment with Cyber DAO’s needs.

Risks & Mitigation: A lack of qualified projects may lead to an underutilization of grant funds; as a solution, surplus funds can roll over to future seasons. Community payroll adjustments can be made based on role performance and community engagement metrics.

Conclusion

Funding Cyber Ecosystem Grants, Community Payroll, and Governance Costs is essential for Cyber’s growth and sustainability. This proposal seeks to utilize treasury resources effectively, driving ecosystem growth, rewarding community contributions, and maintaining robust governance infrastructure. We request the DAO’s support to approve this allocation for 2025.

I support all points.
The only thing is that it is difficult to calculate how many people will be in the second item, so it is difficult to calculate the share for each community member who is included in this item.

Agreed with veylar. Otherwise, I think this proposal is ready for voting.
Note: I’ll be abstaining during the onchain vote since I am affiliated with Agora.
